Guarantee Foundation is a national social organisation which assists provate persons struggling with a financial crisis in solving their debt and payment problems. The objective is to improve management of personal finances and promote independent coping in society.

Guarantee Operations
The Guarantee Foundation offers guarantee for bank loans of private persons in excessive debt or so-called restructuring loans. The loan is then used to combine several debts into one restructuring debt.

The aim is to leave the person in debt enough money to pay their housing costs and other inevitable household expenditures and putting an end to excessive indebtedness.

The guarantee is meant for private persons who suddenly find themselves in a financial crisis.

The Foundation's guarantee is one means of voluntary debt restructuring available, and guarantee will not be granted if the situation with debts can be solved by some other means. Local financial and debt advisers will assist in studying the various solutions available and in compiling a warranty application.

The Debt Line is for persons having trouble with debt and payments or their family members. The telephone discussions survey the overall situation, offer advice and instruct in further actions. All discussions are strictly confidential.

Influencing and Developing
The Guarantee Foundation offers information, issues statements, takes initiative, acts in expert workgroups as well as offers training in guarantee operations. The Foundation also offers training in other issues connected with debt restructuring.

Furthermore the Foundation participates in experimental and development actions promoting debt restructuring and financial management in the Foundation's own projects and in cooperation with various authorities and organisations.
